So after the Nanny was not able to get Ethan calmed down for nap (she had been able to up until this point) I was concerned. I know some of you are thinking that perhaps a mother should be able to comfort a child more than a nanny, but you have never met our Ms. Linda. She is beyond awesome. Anyway, I called Dr. B to ease my mind on the ear infection possibility. Ethan had not been tugging at his ears. I asked Dr. B to tell me something. Anything. Why is Ethan only sleeping every hour at one year of age. Sure enough, one ear is infected and the other has fluid in it. Not sure what that means..how he got fluid in his ears or how I can remedy that, but we go back in two weeks. Here is the funny part. When I asked the pharmacy tech if the antibiotic was nasty tasting she said, "Let me check the YUCK wheel." I kid you not they have different drugs classified by the yuck factor and what flavors mix best with the medicine to make it less yuck or possibly even yummy. That just cracks me up. I am very confident my mother didn't use the YUCK wheel.
Abby has had a little drama of her own. At church on Sunday I was talking to someone and Jeremy had Ethan. Abby is known by just about everyone there so I wasn't concerned about her walking around in the new lobby by herself. You know that feeling when you can't find your child for a split second...when your heart just stops? Mine did. I just knew she ran into second service and was crying because she couldn't find us. Not there. I sent Jeremy upstairs and sent other people other directions to try to find her. NO LUCK. Someone heard her screaming, but we couldn't find her. Aha, the elevator. She had pushed the elevator button and ironically it opened. In a almost three year olds mind if a door opens, you go in and that she did. The problem started when the door closed and she couldn't get it open. She tried with all of her might to pull the doors open but they wouldn't budge with her little fingers. Thankfully it didn't go anywhere because she didn't know to push the buttons. Once we figured it out and had lots of frantic hugs and kisses she was fine and ready for lunch. :) I told Dr. B the story and said I bet she will not do it again...and his response was..I bet she will because now the initial fear is gone. :)
We leave for Branson on Friday and I will post some fun pictures soon!!
